2/27/15  On Friday afternoon all of L.I.S.'s 5th graders skyped with the Seattle Seahawks Defensive Line Coach, Travis Jones.  Mr. Jones spoke to the students about his football career, working with the Seattle Seahawks, and the importance of perseverance. His most important advice to our students: "Never Give Up!"

NJAHPERD is dedicated to advancing quality health education, physical education, recreation, dance education, and athletics.  The Association promotes the development of healthy active lifestyles for New Jersey’s students, educators and community members. Our physical education teachers attended the NJAHPERD Conference this week 2/23/15 & 2/24/15 in Long Branch, N.J.

Our teachers also had the opportunity to hear from and meet with the motivational keynote speaker for the day, Gian Paul Gonzalez.  Click HERE to see his story about helpinginspiring the N.Y. GIANTS to go "ALL IN" .

L.I.S. Students Honored at JETS game 12/1/14

The American Heart Association and the NFL's Play 60 program recognize students across the country who demonstrate Healthy living, wellness, and who are examples to others through being active and physically fit.  2 of our L.I.S. students were recognized through this program this past Monday night at the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins game in East Rutherford N.J.  6th grade student Rebekah Kargbo and 5th grade Jack Yamniuk (both Presidential Physical Fitness Award winners) and their parents were given free tickets to the game and walked out onto the playing field to be honored.  A video of them on the field was shown during the game on the Jets Jumbo Tron screens.  They also received an NFL play 60 t-shirt and Jets apparel.  We are very proud of Rebekah and Jack and their leadership in living an active stay fit lifestyle.
